Please look at the Kauai map with smaller travel maps below. You will notice in the lower left corner travel maps of all islands in the Hawaiian chain. Domestic and international flights arrive into Honolulu see insert on travel maps. Some carriers travel into Maui and Hawaii and the Big Island. United and American have flights directly into Kauai from Los Angeles and San Francisco.
Once in Honolulu, or islands other than Kauai, it is necessary to travel to Kauai via Hawaiian Airlines or Aloha Airlines. Upon arrival you will want a rental car to take you from Lihue to Sealodge at Princeville Vacation Resort following the Kauai map along route 56.

CRATER HILL HIKES
From the Kilauea Point
National Wildlife Refuge Visitor's Center, you can join this 2 to 2-1/2 hour
hike. Guides discuss the geology of the island and Crater Hill, seabirds and
migratory birds, native plants, and marine wildlife that visit Kilauea Point.
Spectacular setting including historic Kilauea Point Lighthouse, visitor's
center, and grounds open all day. Free with paid entry fee of $2 to refuge.
Closed only on Christmas day and New Year's day. Begins at 10:00 a.m.

KAUAI MUSEUM / FREE TOUR
Free tour
at 10 a.m. with admission. Docents provide interpretation of Kauai and Niihau
culture as they lead tours through the Museum's galleries. Hawaiian quilting
demonstrations are given Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 9 a.m. to noon.
Lauhala hat weaving demonstrations are Mondays and Wednesdays from 9 a.m. to 1

KAUAI CHILDRENS MUSEUM EXHIBIT "LIGHT AND COLOR"
Imported from the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry, the exhibit looks at
light and how we
see it. Interactive showcases using prisms, holograms, periscopes, lenses and
kaleidoscopes explore shadow, color, light and darkness. Other permanent
exhibits also. Tuesdays through Saturdays, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Call 823-8222.

13TH ANNUAL BANANA POKA FESTIVAL
Kokee Museum and Hui O Laka host
this free forest education fair from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Festivities include live
music, children's activities, and classes in banana poka basket weaving, lei
making and oshibana cardmaking. Small charge for basket and lei workshops.
